Billy traveled the US as a professional hand-drummer before rediscovering his love of chess in 2019. He served with Chess4Life in Seattle as a lead chess coach and assistant tournament director.
His free spirit and enthusiasm make him an excellent coach for those looking to build their chess skills.
Since his time at Chess4Life, he’s run his own programs in CO and TX, helping youth and adults build both their skills and love of chess.
How it started.
Billy was coaching chess professionally in Seattle schools when he discovered that many adults want to learn chess, but aren’t quite sure where to start.
This sparked the shift from youth coaching to a focus on adults wanting to grow their skill and community through this amazing game.
